Community Engagement - Bicycle Patrols in Glossop and Hadfield this evening - Wednesday 12th August

Glossop SNT -  Community Engagement/Youth Engagement 

This evening, Wednesday 12th August, PCSO Buller from Glossop Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) took the opportunity to utilise the electric powered Police bicycle to patrol and visit our local parks.

First stop was to call in at Manor Park, Glossop. The park this evening was quiet with not many people in there at the time of the visit.

After that it was onto Howard Park - nice to meet and engage with some young people in there with their mothers enjoying and having a very peaceful summer evening -  Glossop swimming baths looked busy.

Then onwards - with the steady ride over Dinting Road towards Hadield to visit Bankswood Park, Hadfield. The park was quite busy with approx 150 people - both young and old and lots of families, all sat patiently awaiting tonights eclipse - which luckily PCSO Buller managed to observe, the partial eclipse, with the aid of someones protective glasses.

Lastly onto the Park at Newshaw Lane - there were a few youngsters using the small skateboard track and play equipment - with whom we had a quick chat, before the ride back into Glossop via the A57.

Remember - you can always come and say hello when you see members of our team on patrol  - and if you want to tell us about any issues you may have, or think of things that we need to know about - thats an opportunity to tell us.  

However we also have our  Community Voice survey that has now replaced and refreshed our previous ‘Derbyshire Talking’ survey, which you can complete on-line - via our community messaging system, Derbyshire Alert: https://derbyshirealert.co.uk/Content/Pages/Community-Voice

The surveys are then used by our local Police teams to set their local Policing priorities, and enables us to work with our partners to tackle the issues that matter the most to our communities.

Our teams as always are there to engage with all members of our communities - ‘its good to talk - but equally as importnt  to listen'.
