illegally fishing on the protected waters at Creswell Crags

We have received reports of individuals illegally fishing on the protected waters at Creswell Crags this evening and within recent days.

Please be reminded that Creswell Crags is protected site of special scientific interest. Fishing on protected land without permission is criminal offence under the Theft Act and Wildlife protection legislation.

We kindly ask members of public refrain from fishing on this land and to respect the local environment and wildlife.

Where possible our Safer Neighbourhood and @Derbyshire Rural Crime Team  will be carrying out increased patrols. If you witness any suspicious activity or illegal fishing please report it on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
