Witness appeal - Newhall Park

Hi there,

This is an appeal for the following victim to identify themselves to Derbyshire Constabulary following two dogs being dangerously out of control.

At 8.10am on Friday 18th September 2026 within Newhall Park Swadlincote, two large brown Cane Corso dogs have launched themselves aggressively at an elderly female causing her to be knocked significantly back to the floor resulting in one of those dogs attempting to then attack the dog being held on a lead by the female.

We have been informed that the victim of this incident is a White female, aged in her seventies and was in possession of a blonde coloured pug dog, but we have not been able to formally identify her. 

We would like her to come forward as we understand that this would have been a terrifying incident for her, and to identify whether she had received any injuries as a result of the incident. 

Please note that the officer in charge of the case PC Murray from Swadlincote SNT has identified the owner and address where the two Cane Corso dogs reside. The officer has consequently put into place immediate preventative measures with the owner to negate any further incidents from occurring whilst this is being investigated.
