Speed Check as part of our Road Safety Priority |

|
***** You Said We Did *****
As part of our priority into Road Safety which includes speeding and dangerous parking offences such as those committed by parking on the white line system.
These priorities were decided on after they were overwhelmingly voted for by our local community in the “Community Voice” surveys via Derbyshire Alert and in direct communication with the team at our Community Catch up events etc.
With that in mind officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team have been out conducting speed checks in the last couple of weeks in villages who have raised concerns of speeding through surveys at the conclusion of these checks the community along with the parish councils have been updated of the result of the check saying if speed limits had been adhered to or not via Derbyshire Alert.

From one recent check, we found that limits weren’t being adhered to and resulted in the team joining forces with officers from Ashbourne and Matlock Safer Neighbourhood Teams to conduct a pro-active enforcement check in Tideswell. Further enforcement is planned to take place in the area.
The Safer Neighbourhood Team have also been working with communities who currently have a functioning Community Speed Watch. We have also engaged with communities who have highlighted a concern, to see if volunteers from the community wish to set one up to work in tandem with our enforcement activities.

We will be continuing these speed checks throughout our area and will be looking to visit other locations where residents have raised concerns by completing the survey in the coming weeks in line with our local priorities and the Constabulary’s “JUST A SECOND” campaign
If you wish to raise a concern or highlight a concern relating to speed, please do so by completing the survey on the link below: https://www.derbyshirealert.co.uk/Content/Pages/Community-Voice or
