Bonfire Night celebrations, a reminder to be safe and respectful over the next few days

Glossop SNT - Bonfire Night ‘Keep Safe, Think of Others and Have Fun’!

As many people plan their Bonfire Night celebrations, we're reminding you to be safe and respectful.

We always recommend attending an organised display, but if you do plan to do your own fireworks display, Remember it's against the law to set off fireworks between 11pm and 7am. ⏰

There are some exceptions to this, which are:

🎆 Bonfire night (5 November): until midnight.

🎆 New Year's Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year: until 1am the following day.

⚖️ It is also illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to buy or carry fireworks. Throwing or setting off fireworks in the streets is also against the law.

🎇 When planning your display, make sure you've read through this important safety advice from Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service: https://www.derbys-fire.gov.uk/safety/outdoor-safety/fireworks-and-bonfire-safety and let your neighbours and community know in advance so that they can prepare themselves, pets or livestock if needed.
