As we enjoy Bonfire Night, please remember that fireworks come with laws, responsibilities and safety risks. ⚖️ KNOW THE LAW: 🔹 You must be 18 or over to buy adult fireworks. 🔹 Fireworks must not be set off in streets or public places, including parks, roads, pavements and public footpaths. 🔹 Fireworks must not be set off between 11pm and 7am. On Bonfire Night, the cut-off is midnight. 🔹 Never throw fireworks at people, animals, vehicles or buildings. 🔹 Only use fireworks on private property with the landowner’s permission.
🐶 THINK OF OTHERS: Remember pets, horses, livestock and wildlife. Loud fireworks can cause animals serious distress, panic and injury.
🌾 RESPECT OUR RURAL COMMUNITIES: Stay away from livestock, farms, stables and agricultural buildings. Never trespass, damage fences or gates, or set off fireworks near animals, crops or woodland.
🧹 CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF: Don’t leave spent fireworks, sparklers, packaging or rubbish behind. Make sure bonfires are completely extinguished and dispose of waste responsibly. Our streets, parks and countryside are not dumping grounds!
👮 ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR: Dangerous or antisocial behaviour involving fireworks can be reported to the police via 999/101 or online via https://orlo.uk/Report_A_Crime_vQCGU
Let’s remember that Bonfire Night should be about enjoyment, not distress, damage, danger or leaving a mess for someone else.
BE RESPONSIBLE, STAY SAFE, CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF AND RESPECT YOUR COMMUNITY – BOTH URBAN AND RURAL 🎆
