Appeal for witnesses to incident at Deand Drive playground

Alert message sent 12/09/2019 11:46:00

Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

Witnesses are being sought to an incident in a Borrowash park where a ten-year-old boy was threatened.

The boy was with a friend at the playground in the Deans Drive park at around 6.30pm on Monday, August 19 when he approached by a group of teenagers; two girls and a boy.

They pushed the boy from a swing, verbally abused and threatened him before stealing his hat.

The boy was left shaken and upset by the incident.

We have spoken to a 14-year-old boy about the incident but we understand the park was busy with dog walkers at the time and there could be witnesses who have yet to come forward.

Please quote the reference number 19000440499 in any correspondence and address it to the officer in the case, PC Abbie Steel.
