Man charged after alleged robbery at Spondon pharmacy

A man has been charged after an alleged robbery at a pharmacy in Spondon on Tuesday 12 November.

Paul Jones, 56, of no fixed abode has been charged with robbery and possession of a knife. He appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court yesterday (14 November) and was remanded into prison custody.

He was arrested on Tuesday, after officers were called to reports of an incident at Lloyds Pharmacy in Chapel Street, just before 5pm.

Two men are alleged to have entered the pharmacy threatened staff and demanded medication. They are reported to have left with a quantity of prescription medication.

We are now appealing for information about a second man, who we believe may be able to assist with our enquiries. He is described as white and was wearing dark clothing, with a hood and his face covered.
