Man given suspended sentence for breaching Criminal Behaviour Order in Belper and Bakewell

A Chesterfield man has been given a suspended sentence for breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) on two occasions, in Belper and in Bakewell.

John Green (63) of Springbank Road, Chesterfield, appeared before magistrates at Chesterfield Justice Centre on Tuesday 11 February.

It is after officers were called to reports of a by a man staggering into the road on Bridge Street in Belper on Tuesday 19 November.

Officers attended and found Mr Green to be drunk and carrying a bottle of whiskey.
He was also alleged to have been drunk when he approached staff to ask for an ambulance in Boots, in Bakewell, on Friday 25 October.

Mr Green is subject to a Criminal Behaviour Order until January 2023 and one of the conditions of the CBO is to not be drunk in a public place.

He pleaded guilty to the offence in Belper, and not guilty to the offence at Bakewell, but was found guilty to both.

Magistrates sentenced Mr Green to a 12 week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and was ordered to pay court costs of £122.
