Murder investigation launched after man found dead in Derby

Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a man was found dead at a property in Derby on Saturday February 15.

We were called to an address in Manchester Street at 1.10pm that afternoon, following a report that the body of man had been found.

A 47-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody. Two men aged 24 and 33 who were arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice have been released on police bail.

Detective Chief Inspector Karl Whiffen who is leading the investigation said:

“I would like to reassure the local community that we are treating this as an isolated incident and I would ask that people bear with us whilst we progress this investigation, which is still in its early stages.

I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area of Manchester Street on Saturday morning into the afternoon and noticed anything suspicious.
