Man charged with drug and weapon offences

A man has been charged with drug and weapon offences.

On Tuesday 11 February, officers approached a man in a car in Netherclose Street, Derby, as they believed the car was used to transport drugs.

Nasir Habib (29), of no fixed abode, was arrested and later charged with possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply. He was also charged with two counts of possessing an offensive weapon after an axe and a baseball bat were found inside the car.

He is due to appear at Derby Crown Court on Thursday 12 March.
