Man admits drug crime after officers stop him in Derby

A man has admitted possessing drugs with intent to supply after officers stopped him in Derby this week.

Officers from the Pro-Active Unit visited Jacob Jones at his home in the Boulton Moor area Wednesday 25 March to discuss an unrelated matter.

He ran from officers and after a short chase on foot, they stopped him and found him to be carrying a large amount of heroin. He was arrested on suspicion of possessing the drug with intent to supply.

He appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Thursday 26 March) where he pleaded guilty.

Jones (21) of Bowes Road, Boulton Moor, is due to be sentenced at Derby Crown Court on April 16.
