Man jailed for school burglary

A man who burgled a primary school has been jailed for 16 months.

Ashley Colbert broke into Brookfield Primary School, Mickleover, on April 11, taking several laptops and causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.

He was arrested on April 16 when officers visited a house in St Davids Close in the Abbey area of Derby. Four of the six stolen laptops were found at the house.

Colbert (38), of Cromwell Road, Derby, pleaded guilty to the burglary and was sentenced at Derby Crown Court on Wednesday, 27 May.
