Update on Alvaston sexual assault

A man has been arrested in connection with an assault on a woman in Alvaston.

The 39-year-old has been arrested, questioned and released under investigation while inquiries continue.

At around 8.30pm on Friday 15 November, a 60-year-old woman was walking along the footpath that runs between Thorndike Avenue and Baker Street when a man approached her and assaulted her.

She was helped by some passers-by, who called the police.

We want to speak to witnesses or anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in the area at this time. Please quote the reference number 19*613323 when contacting us.
