Alert message sent 21/11/2019 14:42:00

Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

As part of National Safeguarding Week some of our Safer Neighbourhood Safeguarding Team joined the Major of Derby this afternoon (Thursday, 21 November) at his Digni-Tea event in Allenton.

The event, held at St Martin’s Church and Community Centre, was to highlight the work being completed in the city to safeguard vulnerable adults in-particular.

The Safer Neighbourhood Safeguarding team are a dedicated team of 4 supervisors and 17 officers, a mix of police officers and police staff, who deal with all aspects of vulnerability and safeguarding across Derby City, South Derbyshire and Erewash.

This includes dealing with hate crime, missing persons, adults at risk, children at risk of exploitation and safeguarding victims of domestic abuse. The team works closely with other partner agencies and charities.

They deal with many of the most vulnerable members of our societies in times of most need. The team supports these people and their families through traumatic and potentially life changing events, ensuring the city and county is as safe as possible for the most vulnerable in our society.
