Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

Following concerns raised at Street Meets and Derbyshire Talking Surveys. Bakewell SNT, Special Constabulary, Peak District National Park Rangers, Local River Keepers and Neighbourhood Watch have conducted Anti-Social Behaviour patrols in Monsal Dale, Lathkill, Cressbrook and the River Derwent that passes through Baslow and Froggatt.

These areas of natural beauty, have seen an influx of visitors throughout the pandemic. We have been educating visitors about the countryside code and the importance of not having barbeques/fires and taking litter home with them.

We have also had a rise in people poaching in the area, we have some of the best fly-fishing rivers in the country and the keepers do a great job of not only looking after the fish but all wildlife.
