Alert message sent 18/11/2019 13:00:00

Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

We are urging residents in Swadlincote and surrounding villages to review their home security following several burglaries.

The latest incidents happened on Saturday 16 November. A burglar sneaked into a house in New Street, Church Gresley sometime between midnight and 5am. They took a PlayStation and controllers.

That same night, a house in New Street, Church Gresley was targeted via an unlocked door and on Friday 8 November, a thief sneaked into a house in Weston Street, Swadlincote.

In each case, the homeowner was inside when the burglary took place but they did not see the thief.

We are asking residents to make sure they lock windows and doors before going to bed.
